Our Story
The Baker Next Door’s origin story is quite literally about the baker next door.
Jenna and her spouse Jereb moved from San Francisco to Redwood City with their first baby. There, they met their new neighbors, Brian and Amie, as well as their two teenagers.
The four instantly got along, sharing a love for cafés and bakeries of lore in Europe and the Bay Area. They concluded that the Downtown Redwood City community needed a quality, neighborhood bakery to meet and share good food and coffee.
Four kids, shared meals, babysitting, graduations, and a pandemic later, Jenna and Brian set out to open a bakery and café in downtown Redwood City.
The Baker Next Door was born.
Today, The Baker Next Door serves artisanal breads hand made pastries, a seasonal café menu and delicious, locally roasted coffee & teas. Brian & Jenna continue to be humbled by the support of the community and hope to be a place for people to meet, connect and unwind over quality coffee and kick ass products for many years to come.
Almost one year after their first pop-up, Brian, Jenna, and their team opened their doors on Main Street and welcomed the community into their bakery & café in August of 2024.
